23 Days Down, 8 Days to Go

Only one more week of Spring Training for Adam and then it is off to a new adventure! Once camp breaks and the players leave for their assigned teams, I will drive Adam's car out to where he is so he has it for the season. This year I am taking the puppies with me so they can see Adam! He has been gone for 23 days and they still look for him when I come home, like he is right behind me. It breaks my heart that they miss him that much. They haven't given up the idea that he is going to come home one day! I know that seeing them will be good for Adam too :)

Speaking of puppies.....Adam made me promise two things when he was leaving for the season. Number one: Use the security system! "That is why we put it in..." he said. Number two: Do not let the dogs crowd and push you out of our king size bed at night. I can say that I have kept up my promise on one of these....can you guess which one...I use the security system. As for the sleeping arrangements.....we are working on it hunny.. :)

We love you and miss you Adam! See you soon!

On one other note...my previous post about spring...ya well scratch that. This is what we woke up to this morning! When will it end?!?!

Clearly Casey isn't very happy with the snow either.

Rain, Rain Go Away

Do you ever wake up to find out that it is gray, raining and 40degrees outside?? Well, that is what we have got here in Wisconsin today. It is days like today that make me want to stay in bed watching movies and napping all day! But, the day must go on! I guess I can handle a little rain when we had such fabulous SPRING weather last week! My lack of blogging until today was due to the fact I was outside enjoying every bit of the sunshine, warmth and fresh air!

Long walks with the dogs, reading on the porch, watching the kids in the neighborhood run all over, driving with the sunroof and windows open, grilling and opening all the windows in my house to get the stale winter air out is a recap of my week/weekends the past few days! It couldn't be better!
A sure sign spring is here is that my daffodils and tulips are coming up!

I love tulips! They are by far my favorite flower and you can bet I bought some in the grocery store this week! The colors are so beautiful and can always make my house feel like springtime!

The dogs love the shining sun and that when it is so nice out I leave the front door open so they can look outside and lay in the sun through the glass!

Even though the rain is here and will be for a few days, I can't wait for more spring/summer weather and more bbq's with great neighbors. (Thanks for dinner to Carrie and Mike last night) Adam, I wish you were home more than anything to see how amazing spring here can be! But, I know you are working hard and enjoying the sun and 90's down in Phoenix!

Our First Post!

So I finally caved and decided to create a blog about our family! I made a promise to myself that I will update the blog as much as I can and when interesting things happen in "our little world"...at least during the baseball season when Adam is so far away from us. Now all of our friends and family (and of course Adam) can keep track of us! So Enjoy!

I am sitting here on a Saturday night while the girls (our dogs) are fast asleep, thinking about my wonderful husband who is sitting in his hotel room all the way across the country. I really hate this time of year. Not only is Adam gone but all the unknowns that come with baseball make me uneasy. I am constantly apologizing to Adam for asking so many questions everyday but I hate not knowing where he is going to be in a month, where our lives are going etc. For those baseball girlfriends, fiances and wives, I am sure you know this feeling. And for those of you who know me, the ultra planner, this stinks. So, three more weeks and then a whole new set of worries...fun times in my house. I am generally not in a great mood the month of March...but Adam puts up with it and loves me all the same. I cannot thank him enough for that!
This past week or so, since he has been gone, I am relying on the memories we made this past offseason to get me through. I thought last season was a memorable one...wedding and all...but this offeason has proved that even without any big life changing events it can be just as memorable! Spending time together in our house, on the couch watching movies makes memories to me. But so do all our fun trips this year: Denver, SanDiego, Chicago (a few times), Mexico to mention a few. Also, we made some great new friends in our neighborhood and had a great couple of nights out with them this year! This was one of the best offseasons we have ever had!
But now it is on to a whole new set of memories..baseball season memories-long car trips, seedy hotel rooms, middle of nowhere towns and lots of hot summer nights sitting in plastic seats at baseball games. And although I love the offseason, I really love to watch my husband play and wouldn't trade this time in our lives for anything!
I hope everyone will enjoy my updates on Adam and what is going on around here this spring and summer!
