Where Did the Time Go

Alright, so when I said I would update the blog soon…I lied I guess! It has been a month.....can't really believe it has been that long, but it has! Forgive the long post ahead as I catch everyone up on our life and try to come up with an excuse for not blogging more! ;)

Okay, so where were we a month ago….I was just getting home from visiting Adam in Winston-Salem, our home away from home!

I had a really great trip out east to see my hubby who I hadn’t seen in 8 weeks! I drove Adam’s car out to W-S so he had it for the season...14 hours and 7 states and I was in the parking lot at the good old Quality Inn and my handsome husband was racing down the stairs towards me. We have been apart plenty of times before and for even longer than 8 weeks but nothing beats that moment when he wraps his arms around me. Everything in the world seems to stop at that moment!

The weather could not have been better with sunny blue skies and 90 degrees everyday! We spent plenty of time outside! It was great to see friends we haven’t seen in almost a year and I love that when we see them it is like we never left! Chuck, Cherry and Jo spent an afternoon with me in the stands and then took us out to eat! We love and miss them so much! Adam is living with our other great friends who are so wonderful to us, Bob and Joyce. They always take wonderful care of us!

The best part of my trip was probably just getting to be normal for a few days with my hubby. We went to lunch and dinner at every chain restaurant you can think of! (Those are the only places open late enough to go to after the games!) We went to the movies and saw State of Play, great movie! We ran errands to Dicks, CVS, Best Buy etc. and stayed up late and slept in late! Oh and went to baseball games! Well, I went, he played :)

A little Late Night pizza from Mellow Mushroom! I believe this was around midnight and we were eating dinner finally!

All in all a wonderful and uneventful trip. It was sad to leave but home was calling and it was time to get back to reality. One thing I find really hard is getting back into things after a trip to see Adam. I came home to a mountain of yard work, bills, an empty refrigerator and attention needing puppies! But it is good to be home and back into a routine!

What have I been doing since I got home?! Yardwork! Housework! And just running about a million errands. Also, work has really picked up lately so I have been in the office more often. Since I have been working more it means I don’t get home until after 6, there is just enough time to kick off my heals, put on sweats and manage to pull something together for dinner that doesn’t require too much effort and sit down to satisfy my Reality TV addiction!

I am not usually a crazy reality TV watcher but Idol and Dancing with The Stars have reeled me in lately and my nights now revolve around what is on TV that night. Of course there are always my favorite shows too like Grey’s and Law and Order: SVU! Seems sort of sad but without my hubby there is not much else to do then work and watch TV.

On topic of reality TV:

Idol- Yay Kris Allen! So I was not really a Kris Allen fan until the finale but was glad he won because Danny Gokey got kicked off! I was really bummed about Danny! He is from Milwaukee and it was great to see a hometown guy make it that far! Milwaukee was really Danny Gokey crazy! Friday May 8th was Danny Gokey day in Milwaukee and he threw out the first pitch and sang the National Anthem at the Brewers game that night! I went with a couple friends to the game and it was awesome to see him sing in person! He is really great!

Now that Idol and Dancing are over what will I watch?? The Bachelorette started up again just in time! And I am excited because the new Bachelorette is one of my favorite girls from last season, Jillian! So much drama and weirdness in episode one! I am not sure what I like to watch more: one guy picking from 25 girls and all the crazy drama girls bring or one girl picking from a bunch of guys trying to outdo each other and doing anything for attention. Both are very entertaining! If anyone watches the Bachelorette like I do, you might be interested in these websites: http://www.bachelorlove.blogspot.com/... http://www.ihategreenbeans.com/... blogs by other Bachelorette/Bachelor fans who blogs about each episode and are really hilarious. Every week it seems like I find myself laughing out loud at their recaps! Enjoy if you want!

Okay enough about my reality TV obsession! Mother’s day was May 10th and I had a lot of fun spending time with my Mom, the best mom in the world! She had been in California over the weekend so I picked her up Sunday evening from the airport and we picked up her dogs from the kennel, then to my house for dinner! My sister and her boyfriend came over and we had one of my specialty dinners: Italian chicken and pasta. It is a recipe from Giada DeLaurentiis and it is easy and tasty! www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/italian-baked-chicken-and-pastina-recipe/index.html Pasta was followed by yummy desserts and the season finale of Celebrity Apprentice. It was a wonderful low key night and I had fun just relaxing with my mom. I love my mom so much! She is truly a wonderful gift in my life!

Happy Mother’s day to my wonderful Mother-In-Law too! We miss her and wish she wasn’t so far away! Adam hit a home run on Mother’s Day too! What a great mother’s day present to my mom and his mom! I know they were both excited for him! I got the most beautiful bouquet of tulips from my amazing hubby for Mother’s Day too! Even though we don’t have any kids yet he sent them from our puppies! The card was so sweet and made me feel so loved! Thank you so much baby!

Now that everyone is more than caught up on our life, what is next? For the next month it will be more working and Bachelorette watching, a big memorial day BBQ where we bust out the smoker grill again and have fun with family and friends, and a trip to Wilmington, Delaware to see one of my best friends who I haven’t seen in a year and a trip to New York City with my hubby for a few days! And of course enjoying the warm summer weather and grilling out! It is going to be a great month and I promise to keep up with the blog better!

Pheww, that was really long! Sorry everyone! Hope everyone is doing great and enjoying a wonderful start to their summer! We Love and Miss you all! <3>
